Having a fabulous room with Smeg
Depending on what your preferences are, I believe most people like their contemporary design to have a splash of the traditional. Whether this comes from that cool little bread bin you picked up at the market, or the olde world iron handles attached to the living room door, there’s no reason why classic and modern can’t go hand in hand. A perfect case in point being Smeg’s FAB appliance range.
The FAB range is designed to specifically to give a classic, look. The influence is 1950s pop art, so there’s a focus on bright, vibrant colours. There’s a vast array to choose from, including a vivid cherry red, girl-friendly pink or deep powder blue.
Smeg FAB Appliance Range.
The main body of Smeg FAB appliances are built around the retro appeal. People love retro, and these designs don’t disappoint. The smooth surface comes in either a glossy or matted finish, whilst the sides are curved for a continuous look on at the sides and top.
The handles are metallic and chunky, with a unique etched finish. They look like they belong on the door of a Cadillac instead of an appliance.
Aspiring Photographer
That’s me– I love taking photos especially of flowers, food, or anything that interests me.
I do not have one of those DSLR cameras yet, but I am hoping I’d have one soon. Meantime my point and shoot Sony is doing a good job. I also like the fact that it’s handy and can fit in my bag or purse. I just get frustrated when I can’t take shots of objects that are far, or I can’t perfect a macro shot.
Looking at cameras in shops are one of my favorite pasttimes, and I also keep myself updated with the latest models and prices. Who knows? I could have enough money to buy that camera I’ve always wanted and yes, I could pursue this newfound passion!
Hello Kitty!
I remember one time there was this campaign for children online, and it went viral on facebook. We had to replace our profile photos with our favorite cartoon character as a child. I did not have any second thoughts. I immediately chose Hello Kitty.
I have fond memories of collecting hello kitty stickers, bags, wallets and even stationery while I was in my elementary years. We would often brag about our collections in school and sometimes we would exchange items.
These days there are a lot of cartoon characters to choose from, so my kids might have difficulty answering as to who their favorite cartoon character is– but definitely, Hello Kitty is a classic!
Spic-and-span home? No Problem!
After a long day at work, there is nothing like going home to a spic-and-span home. A neat, well-kept and well-arranged haven is something you would like to relax in after beating deadlines and heavy traffic, for sure!
But in most cases, this would not be the case as you would hardly have any time to clean, do the laundry or even fold your blankets in the morning as you jump out of your bed to make it on time for work. So instead of relaxing on weekends, you find yourself wanting to tidy up, getting no rest at all as you wait for the weekdays again to join in the rush.
How about coming home to a clean, well-kept abode by hiring a maid at Maid Service Rockville MD? While some people are worried about their belongings’ safety at the care of these maids, you can be assured that these professionals will take care of your things in your absence.
Quit trying to tidy up your house when you could be relaxing and unwinding after a fully loaded week at work. Who says you could not have one of those spic-and-span houses you have always wanted? You don’t only get the quality services you deserve—you will be freed from the pressures of housework as well! Isn’t it great? It won’t be that difficult. Quality maid services are just a call away!
Listening to our music
I am grateful to have musically inclined kids. I owe this to hubby. He is a natural born musician, although it’s a shame that he has never had a chance to learn it professionally. Although I have listened to many people play the guitar, I still think that hubby is one great guitarist, and probably, in my humble opinion, the best in the world! ( Ha!)
Ria plays the violin, but she is also good in the recorder. Roi is ever dreaming to be a rock star, so his plastic guitar, for now, is the love of his life. I know that when they grow older, our house would be filled with music, with alesis mixers, too!
I, on the other hand, is an aspiring singer so I guess they don’t have much choices when it comes to who’s doing the vocals!
Planning a party!
We had a fun skype meeting with the family yesterday. Before we hung up, my mom said that she will be sending in an amount today for Roi’s birthday. Hubby and I were just discussing how to spend the money for a little party and still be able to buy that bike our little boy always wanted.
We were toying with the idea of just eating out with special friends but then we could not invite the three kids in the neighborhood who are also Roi’s friends. An afternoon snack would be the most ideal, because we could invite those kids over and we would not be spending that much. I was thinking of doing my traditional spaghetti, order a cake somewhere, buy balloons and paper plates and plastic spoons and forks then we’re good.
As for hubby, I was thinking I would buy one of those coilhose pneumatics– something my handy Joey would love! He would even be happier if they came with a tool box. Wait. Let me check my budget!
Two birthdays coming up!
I have been blogging about hubby’s birthday coming up soon. It would be our Roi’s too, days before hubby’s so I am hoping to have a little party in the house for both of them. Since we could not afford to have two separate celebrations, we could have dinner in celebration of their big days. I am sure hubby would not mind celebrating it in time for Roi’s 6th birthday.
We are thinking if it would be a good idea to have Filipino food and invite Filipino friends or have Thai food and invite Thai friends over—or have both?
Of course when we talk about birthdays, we always think about presents. We have been saving up for Roi’s bike. I don’t know if hubby would appreciate it if I gave him one of those steel pendants with a “39” on it to remind him that it will just be a year before he will turn 40!
Business and technology
If you really know how to use technology to aid your business, there are so much opportunities for you– unlimited opportunities, in fact. What you can do for weeks you can actually do in a day with these modern facilities. With software bundle, you can even save on manpower expenses, too.
These software are surely worth our investment because it hastens business operations, makes the job a lot easier, precise and accurate, too.
If you are ever considering getting into business, you don’t have to start big– just make sure you make use of software and technology available and get ready to go big!
Safety matters
How safe is your house from robbers? Although stealing is not that common in Thailand as it is in our home country, it is still best to be mindful of our belongings than to be sorry after.
Let me explain when I said that stealing is not very common in Thailand. To start with, it would be common to see shoes and flip-flops being left outside shops and houses, even in touristy places like the temples.
The first thing that came to my mind when I saw those was, “are these things safe out here?”– to which the Thais found funny. Well, we really don’t have a multi-million property here, so I guess we really don’t have to worry much about robbers. Maybe those tycoons have to have one of those stack on gun safe in their houses.
But I think that regardless of our status in life and wherever we are in the world, let us always remember to take good care of our properties and guard them well. And mind you, you might need one of these safes to keep important documents in. It is worth your investment, for sure.
His tool box
I really thought hubby is already turning 40 on his coming birthday. It’s only a few weeks from now so I was getting pressured of getting him something special on his 40th. Then he said he’s still turning 39! Oh dear, my math was so wrong but still, I have to think of ways to make his big day special.
For starters, I still can’t bake him a cake because I still don’t have my dream oven. My handy hubby is really desiring a tool box filled with useful tools. That’s what he wanted for his birthday last year but due to budget constraints, I was not able to buy it for him. I should set aside money for that.
I should get him his dream guitar for his 40th—one of those classy Schecter Guitars. Ok, that’s still a year from now so I have enough time to save up. Meantime, let me look for that tool box!
